Capacity Building Workshop (CBW) and Satellite Session (SS) Application Guide


There will be 16 CBW and Satellite Sessions in the Conference. These are open for all related organizations to apply.

 

8 of them have been scheduled on the evening of 19 October. The other 8 will be scheduled on the afternoon of 18 and 19 and morning of 20 based on the slot availability of parallel session. All sessions will be at 90 minutes length.

 

A fee will be charged to those wishing to organize a CBW or a SS. The sponsoring organization has the full responsibility for planning and organization of the workshop or the session, including the promotion before and during the conference. The sponsoring organization is also responsible for the cost incurred for all speakers in the workshop or the session.  

 

Company, government, institution or NGO could propose for CBW and SS, but application will be reviewed and approved by the Scientific and Scholarship Committee. The Scientific and Scholarship Committee reserves the right to approve or reject any application, and may decline, wholly or partially, a request that in their opinion is not keeping in character or purpose of the 5th APCRSHR.

 

In order to ensure that the workshop or the session meets the scientific and ethical standards of the Conference, all proposed CBW and SS will:

  • Address issues directly or indirectly related to Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights within the context of the 5th APCRSHR programme.
  • Be evaluated by the Scientific and Scholarship Committee on the basis of content, merit, overall quality and organisational plan.

 

The Scientific and Scholarship Committee expects to receive more applications than the slots available during the 5th APCRSHR. The Scientific and Scholarship Committee would like to encourage all potential sponsors to work in the spirit of partnership for the region. Upon agreement from the potential sponsors, similar applications from different sponsoring organizations would likely be merged. The fee will be distributed accordingly upon discussion and negation with the potential sponsors.

 

Application

 

Applications for CBW and SS slot should be made by filling the attached application form. The completed application can be sent by postal mail or email to 5apcrshr@npfpc.gov.cn. The deadline for application is 31 July 2009. For detailed rate, please contact with secretariat by 5apcrshr@npfpc.gov.cn.

 

Rate includes:

· CBW and SS package, include meeting room, seating arrangement in theatre style (40 for CBW, 80 for SS), multi media projector, laptop, screen & laser pointer, sound system, flip chart, display table for materials, head table with required number of chairs, 2 floor assistants.

· Complimentary two registration to attend the Conference

· The inclusion of organization’s name on the Conference website with a link to organization’s website

· Acknowledgement in the Program Book

· Distribution of promotional material/organization brochures. Materials to be supplied by sponsor.
